Everyone loves to save a dollar or two but no one likes a tight ass. Making small changes can make a big difference to what you spend and your overall plan towards achieving your goals. Here are 25 of our top tips to help you to save like a king and fatten up your wallet:
- Minimise purchased coffee’s by brewing your coffee at home
- Turn off your lights and install LED’s
- Pack your lunch instead of purchasing it daily (this adds up quickly!)
- When going out for breakfast order eggs on toast (none of this smashed avo stuff)
- Drink local beer and not some fancy IPA
- Recycle your cans and bottles (in SA & NT) & receive 10c each plus help the environment at the same time (WIN/ WIN)
- Hang out at home with friends instead of going out- you can make good cocktail’s too right?!
- There is no need for fake heat- instead of using a heater put a jumper on or have you heard of a blanket?
- Sign up for Virgin, Qantas, Woolworths, Fly buys and every other possible points system
- Don’t pay bank fee’s
- Just because there is a chocolate bar at the checkout doesn’t mean you need it- resist all impulse buys
- Shop at Kmart- how do they make it so damn cheap?!
- Fill up your drink bottle, do not buy bottled water
- Borrow outfits from your friends instead of buying that new dress
- Regularly review your insurances (health, car, contents, life, income protection etc)
- Watch movies at home or if you must, go on tight ass Tuesday
- Book holidays in advance instead of leaving it to the last minute to save on flights and accommodation

- Quit smoking, enough said
- Buy groceries from the market (you can get some bargains on Sunday arvo)
- Do you actually need a Hugo Boss jacket? Like I said Kmart is awesome!
- Pre-pay for parking (particularly at airports)
- Buy in bulk and freeze your food/ meat
- Grow your own herbs (let’s hope you’re a green thumb)
- Don’t speed and you won’t pay speeding fines (Yes Dad!!)
